2005 - I visited Indiana for 3 days in the early part of 2005 for a business trip. Initially I was very excited to be going to this city because I'm a huge auto-racing fan and Indianapolis has a long and distinguished history with motor sports.
In the end, I was somewhat disappointed with the city. Perhaps it was the part of the city that I stayed in, or perhaps it was because I didn't have that much time to explore*, but I didn't find anything that made me want to return, much less stay any longer. I had a hard time finding decent food; most of the restaurants were fast food, or bland. There weren't many activities to keep me busy in the evening. Worse, it was VERY cold. (Obviously that is a seasonal thing and I don't think any less of Indiana because of it.)
* - I had no more time in California or Dallas than I had in Indianapolis, yet I found a lot to like about those cities.
