Maryland
Over the years I've visited Maryland quite a few times for various reasons:
- I've had relatives in the past that lived on the Eastern Shore which enabled me to
see this general area of Maryland during my stay at their home. ... Maryland has EXCELLENT
seafood! (Soft-shell crabs anyone!?!)
- During my stay on the Eastern Shore I was able to take a side trip to Ocean City.
It's a nice place ... far more subdued than the NJ shore but Ocean City can make
quite a relaxing vacation.
- I've had a few business trips to the Baltimore area (Timonium to be exact).
Timonium is a nice, quiet suburb north of the city. I had actually attempted to
get a transfer there at one point (and would have been quite happy), but getting a
requested transfer at UPS requires an act of God ... and I was all out of "acts of
God" that week. All in all I spent quite a few weeks in this area.
- During one of my trips I was able to get to see a Baltimore Oriels baseball game !
This stadium was brand new at the time. It was quite comfortable and easy to
get in and out of.
- Another "must see" item if you are in Baltimore is the Baltimore Aquarium.
I'm not sure but this has to be one of the biggest marine life exhibits in the
world.
- Don't forget to take the side trip to Washington DC as you are VERY VERY close.
Take the train though ..... parking in DC is impossible.
