This is my favorite state. It was my home from 1994 until 1998 when I moved to Atlanta. I still own a house in East Stroudsburg ... the Poconos.
Quiet, peaceful, wooded, mountains, streams, historical ...... adjectives that describe Pennsylvania very well. This very large and mountainous state has only two large cities: Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
The Poconos offers many things besides the many honeymoon resorts, historical sites and opportunities to unwind. If you are a NASCAR fan you will appreciate the Pocono International Raceway home of the Pocono 500 and the Pennsylvania 500. If you like trains you will enjoy the Scranton railway museum.
E-Mail me with questions about anything you want to know about East Stroudsburg or the Pocono area ... I'll be happy to help.
A trip to Philadelphia is always a nice excursion. The "city of brotherly love" is home of the Liberty Bell, the home of Betsy Ross, Ben Franklin, the first public library and many other places significant to the founding of the United States.
Oh yea, if in Philly don't forget to go down to South Street and grab the best cheese-stake that you will ever eat .... period.
